    Description

    Original badge or medal for 40/8 Association -- very scarce in Sterling Silver. La Societe des 40 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux. The medal and suspension device are of solid sterling silver. The medal measures approximately 1 3/8" across, and the suspension device 1 3/4" across at the widest. Weighs a grand total of 22.9 grams on a jeweler's scale, including the ribbon. Both the medal and the suspension device are marked sterling and with a maker logo and union "bug." The The medal is tarnished overall with many dark areas, especially the lower right corner. The medal shows wear and has a number of knocks. The ribbon shows heavy soiling and wear and has two pin holes in it (see scan), just a step above poor condition. You are buying the material pictured. US shipping is .50 (1st Class mail with tracking).
