    Description

This is a Pre-WW2 United States Navy Good Conduct medal group.  It has the Navy Good Conduct medal, but is missing the brooch.  It does have the original ribbon drape, but the ribbon is worn at the side near the bottom ribbon holder.  The planchet is in very good condition, and the reverse is officially engraved "WILLIAM/ALLEN/WATKINS/1934".  The group includes the Navy China Service medal, which has the original crimp brooch and ribbon drape.  The ribbon is soiled and appears dingy.  The planchet is in very good condition.  Also included is the CPO hat badge, which is in the original pin-back style, and is hallmarked on the reverse "GEMSCO/N.Y./ACID TEST", but it appears there is a small portion of the anchor chain that is missing at the bottom.
This group was awarded to a Turret Captain First Class (TC1c)
    William Allen Watkins
.  Mr. Watkins first enlisted in the Navy in January of 1930 and served until 1945, when he was honorably discharged.  US Navy muster roll files show him aboard the USS Savannah, in June and September of 1939, and I will include a copy of both muster roll documents to the winning bidder.
