Description
The US Army Cloak is a seldom encountered item as by the early 1900s it was used mostly as a formal "show" item and was I believe only worn with the formal uniform rather than for the practical reason of staying warm. This particular example was crafted for an infantry officer as indicated by the blue interior cloth and was made by M.C. Lilley & Co. of Columbus, Ohio prior to 1933.
In 1933 the company was sold to the Henderson-Ames Company and became known as The Lilley-Ames Company.
Very Good to Fine Condition.
Exterior Material appears to be unblemished by insect holes, wear, or repairs.
Update: I just noticed that the material to which the right frog button is attached is torn by just about 1/2". See the added photo. I have adjusted the price accordingly.
The Interior Blue material does have a few very small insect bites.
The Collar, being made with a velvet covering, has some wear along the top and edges, but not an excessive amount.
Other than the edge wear, the collar is otherwise undamaged.
The cloak is a rather heavy item due to the large amount and double layer (outside and inside) of quality wool incorporated into it.
