Description
Original West Point Military Academy, cadet riding breeches/trousers that belonged to General Edwin Anderson Walker, dated 9-12-1930 (he was a cadet at the time, graduated class of 1931). A vast amount of information is available on the Internet and in paper format on this famous General. It would be difficult for me to put all that information into this auction, so please do your own research before placing a bid or offer to purchase. Basic information in the public domain is as follows:General Edwin Anderson Walker
, United States Army was born on the 10th of November 1909, at Center Point, Kerr County, Texas; he died on the 31st of October 1993 in Dallas, Texas. He served during WWII and is best known for commanding the Devil's Brigade (a joint American-Canadian commando team, aka: 1st Special Service Force) in the Aleutians/Italy 1943-1944 and Italy/France 1944-1945. For his services, he received the Silver Star, the Bronze Star with cluster, and the Legion of Merit
.
As stated previously, much more history
is available, especially after WWII, on this General that will further enhance the potential for collectibility on this offering.
I acquired this item from an estate auction in Harper, Texas some years ago; the previous owner - Rusty Cox - was a collector of Texana as was well as an actor
(Rough Riders, Broken Spur, Wind and the Lion)
, artist, and musician. In that auction were a number of other items from the Kerr County, Texas region and I will be listing the ones acquired by me as time allows. I am liquidating various items from my own collections as well.
These wool breeches are in dis-repair and I have not cleaned or otherwise attended to them. They are being offered in as found condition. I make no guarantee of serviceability nor warranty of any type. They are soiled, stained, and show heavy wear and insect damage (moth holes, etc.), The breeches will need a good cleaning and restoration to be functional if so desired (see images). Again, sold as is, no warranty implied or given.
I am not married to any of this stuff. Make an offer; if I can make it happen, I will. E-mail with any questions or if you need more images prior to bid/purchase (I have plenty). This item is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this sale without notice at any time prior to any binding offer to purchase from this venue. Thank you.
