Fastskin fabric mimics the rough shark denticles to reduce drag in key areas and features a Turbulence Management System. Grey Flexskin fabric splices allow greater flexibility and less drag. These fabrics were positioned to accomodate the changing flow conditions along the swimmer's body. See FSII Info Center below for details of the Turbulence Management System. Fabric: 81% Nylon/19% Lycra spandex.
Through extensive research, Speedo has identified optimum positioning for the Turbulence Management System which reduces drag.  This allows the swimmer to neutralize the effect of the suit (i.e. feel the water). Seems are engineered to follow the direction of the water flow to reduce drag. Super stretch thread allows greater comfort and freedom of movement. Engineered for performance - to fit like a second skin. Seams and fabric are positioned to maximize the flow of water over the swimmer's body to reduce drag. Fastskin FSII uses two different fabrics, Fastskin and Flexskin - to accommodate different flow characteristics across the body and reduce drag through the water. Result... Up to 4% decrease in drag compared to the original Fastskin.
