    Description

    Up for grabs is a mint condition USGI pre - WWII (June 9, 1937) Cold Weather Field Hat, in khaki color, size 6 7/8. This is a model 1907 field hat, which was issued and used in limited numbers during WWI and remained in use during WWII. This particular piece was made on June 9th 1937. The hat is of a simple design. featuring a durable thick water and wind resistant material (likely a canvas or thick cotton) on the outside and a warm fibrous material lining the inside (likely wool). The hat features a short brim and a long back section which covers the ears and neck, and also extends forward to help protect the lower face such as the chin, and cheeks in cold environments. This lower section, buckles together near the chin. The chin protection and rear head section can be secured above and behind the head when it is not needed, allowing these components to be neatly folded out of the way. The hat can be easily be flattened along either side and stowed when it isn't needed.
    size is US hat size 6 7/8. The original tag said size 7, but was crossed out and replaced with 6 7/8 in pen.
    Condition is "Used", but overall in amazing like new shape. Not bad for a hat from the 1930’s. I am unable to locate any significant damage or wear. All components such as flaps and buckles appear present and functional. There are no rips, holes, repairs, or popped seams. I do not see any significant wear from use, including wear spots, stains, faded colors etc. The tag is present and clearly legible. Please see pictures for more information on condition.
