Boxed General Thomas J. Stewart 100% Drill Attendance Pennsylvania NG medal

Description

This is a Pennsylvania National Guard, 100% Drill Attendance medal.  It has General Thomas J. Steward's portrait embossed on the obverse, with the years 1775, 1812, 1846, 1898 and 1917 embossed on the 5 star planchet arms.  The reverse has "DRILL ATTENDANCE 100% DUTY
"
, which encircles
the Pennsylvania keystone symbol in the middle and PNG embossed on the lower arm of the star.  It comes with the original hidden type barrel locking clasp brooch, original ribbon with very light wear at the folds, with the planchet being in very good condition.  There is a very small spot of green patina on the obverse.
The medal comes with its original issued white card board box which is stamped on the top "
Jos. K. Davison's & Sons, Inc./210 S. 13th Street/Philadelphia/Penna.
" which was the maker of the medal.  The corners are split on the top of the box, but is otherwise in good condition.  The inside still comes with the original onion skin paper packaging .
The interesting part of this original box is that the outside of the box top has in pencil written "1936 Flood", which could only mean that this Pennsylvania National Guardsman was assigned or present during the 1936 Johnstown, PA, flood (some have referred to it as the Saint Patrick's Day Flood).
